South Carolina Martial Traditions is the 8,000-square-foot permanent exhibit at the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum. The exhibit covers South Carolina military history from the Colonial Era to the War on Terror. Artifacts on display include a cannon used during the Siege of Ninety Six in the Revolutionary War, weapons manufactured in Columbia by the Palmetto Armory in the 1850s, Civil War-era uniforms donated to the museum by soldiers and the children of Confederate soldiers, the regimental flag of the 34th United States Colored Troops/2nd United States South Carolina Volunteer Infantry, memorabilia of the Civil War era, a Reconstruction-era Red Shirt, a uniformed WWI 371st Regiment soldier, artifacts from the WWII light cruiser USS Columbia, and other more modern artifacts.
