Ongoing Fundraising

The South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum is currently raising $250,000 in order to purchase the collection. If this archive is not purchased by the museum, there is a great danger that these papers will be sold separately, causing the integrity and historical value to be irretrievably lost for Civil War scholars and collectors.  It is paramount to keep these papers together and readily available for interested citizens and scholars.

The museum is also fundraising to assist in creating an exhibit that will combine the information in the McRae archival collection with artifacts of imported Confederate arms, uniforms, and equipment. The exhibit is scheduled to open in 2011.
